"This is what a love story should be." - RT Book Reviews

Scroll down to see some location shots of a place that inspired the lovely St Gallan royal palace that features in this story.

'His Majesty's Temporary Bride' is set on the fictitious island of St Galla, in the Mediterranean, somewhere off the coast of France and Italy. The island was partly inspired by the lovely scenery I saw in that coastal area while travelling. Like this view, above, from Cap Ferrat in the south east corner of France.
Another inspiration for the story was the beautiful Belle Epoque Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in the same area. I fell in love with the pink and white stucco building with its wonderful artwork, gardens and stunning views.
When I was writing the St Gallan Palace I imagined something very like this Villa, though on a larger scale and on an absolutely private peninsula with no neighbours. It was the most wonderful location to escape to while I was writing. I hope these photos help you imagine it as you read!
